Tot School: Numbers

Today at Tot School we learned about numbers and counting.  We enjoyed playing with number puzzles and learning how to put stickers into number groups.

We built fine motor skills using our workbooks and other learning aids (i.e. pipe cleaners, stickers).   These early skills will help the kids prepare to hold a pencil properly for writing.

A fun activity we did was marching, jumping, dancing and singing to some silly counting songs.   I sure got some good exercise doing this activity with the kids!

So cute I just had to include it!

We also read several great books about numbers including “The Right Number of Elephants”, “Ten Tiny Babies”, “Spot Can Count” and “Flying High”. Our snack was raisins, goldfish crackers, cheerios, and oranges. We intended to use our snack bits for counting practice, but the kids were so hungry that they ate faster than they we could count.
