#5 Orange Ff

We had to cancel last week because so many of our kids were sick.  Then two of our little ones were out of town on vacation this week so we just had two kids for tot school today.  It was a small class, but this week was super fun, so that made up for it!  We started with lacing beads and laminated cutouts and made necklaces.  One toddler (yes, it was my child) had to have a time out because she threw a bead which hit her friend.  It was a rough start, but things got much better after that.  We sorted the beads by color and stacked them on straws.
Then we moved on to our arts and crafts activities.  We counted five paper goldfish and glued them into a fishbowl on an orange paper.  Then we did a coloring sheet for the letter F and named several things that started with F.  Last we cut out our Bible verse for the day: “For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life” John 3:16.  We taped the verse together and this was the first time it was taller than the kids.  They had some giggles over the giant verse.  It was cute.
Snacks were next and they were a fun variety of orange edibles:  orange bell pepper, cheddar cheese, baby carrots, goldfish crackers, and orange juice.  We started singing “Five Little Monkeys Swinging in a Tree” and doing the hand motions while we were at the table after snacktime.  The kids loved it when the “crocodile” tried to “snap” their fingers.

We sat on the couch to read some fun stories today and the kids enjoyed them so much they wanted to read them again, along with some other alphabet books we hadn't read yet.  Our stories were “Five Little Monkeys” by Eileen Christelow, “Orange Pear Apple Bear” by Emily Gravett, “My F Soundbox” by Jane Belk Moncure, and “Mathilda and the Orange Balloon” by Randall De Seve. It was a wonderful day!
